CURRENT PLANETARY TRANSITS

This December will focus on staying in balance during a chaotic month as the Moon and Saturn conjunct in Libra on December 1st. Cosmic cathartics this month include a New Moon in Sagittarius and Uranus going direct on December 5, Mercury retrograding from December 10 - December 30th and a Lunar Eclipse - Super Full Moon on the Winter Solstice, December 21st .

The new moon in Sagittarius on December 5th helps to set goals, communicate more effectively, and plan the upcoming holiday activities. Get clear on intentions for this holiday season and 2011 as Uranus goes direct in Pisces on the same day, providing a blast of energy to move forward before Mercury goes retrograde on December 10th. Make sure you stay centered and get holiday shopping done early, so you can enjoy the good cheer that will abound during this season. The will to do good and to get things done will pervade in early December, but then everyone will just want to relax and put off big decisions or new business activities until after the New Year.

Mercury goes retrograde on December 10 until December 30 and life becomes weird as past experiences and past lives may come to the surface. Try to be practical with this Mercury retrograde and take care of unfinished personal business from 2010 to clean your slate for 2011. During this Mercury retro cycle catching up with lost contacts and mis-communications will prove fruitful. This is a very internal Mercury retrograde cycle with Mercury in Capricorn until December 18th and then from December 18- December 30, connections and social activities are favored as Mercury continues to retrograde in outgoing Sagittarius.

The Sun transits through Sagittarius from November 21 - December 21, which then marks the arrival of the Winter Solstice as the sun shifts into the sign Capricorn. The Winter Solstice was a time of celebration in pre-Christian and Earth-based societies as it marked the return of light in the Northern Hemisphere during this shortest day of the year. Re-connecting to the Earth through some sort of fire ritual is a wonderful way to ground the powerful energy available to us all at this time of year and bridge from the fiery Sagittarius equinox to the Capricorn Earth domain.

On December 21 a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in late degrees Gemini while the Sun leaves late degrees Sagittarius occurs prior to this Winter Solstice. This will give an extra oomph to the last full moon of 2010. The tides will be higher; the lunar and solar electromagnetic flows will be stronger as the Moon passes through the shadow of the earth. This occurs while the Sun is close to the Galactic Center of our Milky Way galaxy where strong gamma rays, xrays,ultraviolet and far infrared ways enhance our magnetic grid and pulse into our stratosphere. The potential for transformation is amplified right now as electromagnetic energies stream towards us from the solar disc of our galaxy. Major shifts in consciousness are possible now as old paradigms fade out and new networks and pathways are connected.

Capricorn: (born December 21 - January 21)

Capricorns have been hanging out in Pluto's dark realms, especially those born between December 22-28. Saturn in Libra has been squaring your sun, giving a double dose of serious karmic conditions. Ultimately, Saturn in Libra will help eliminate people and situations which no longer serve you. It will become more important than ever to bring your life into balance. Your professional life will get a big boost after December 30th and into 2011. Lucky days: December 6,7,8.

Aquarius: (born January 21-February 20)

2010 was a year of endings for Aquarius as Neptune and Chiron, forced issues to come to the surface and stirred up your core wounds again as they get ready to exit your sign in 2011. Planets in Sag during December help Aquarians re-boot and re-energize their para-shakti (life force). You are looking forward to the transits of Jupiter and Uranus in Aries in early 2011 ushering new beginnings and the dawn of your much anticipated Aquarian age.

Taurus will feel a boost from the trine of Pluto in Capricorn to their sun in the coming years. This will bring in stability to the new foundations they have been building, and increased success. Mercury retro in Cap will be good for Taurus, and let you catch up on work and health issues. However, you are being shown how to be more flexible in your life. Inflexibility and stubbornness need to be left at the door as you enter 2011. Lucky days: December 16, 17, 18.

Gemini: (born May 21- June 21)

Sun in Sag. Opposes your Gemini sun until December 21st but the Gemini full moon on December 21st will open up new avenues in all areas of your life. Social activities during this full moon cycle should be revealing and rewarding. You are looking forward to 2011 as Jupiter and Uranus transiting Aries will bring opportunities and excitement. Virgo needs to get organized for 2011 and Mercury retrograde in Capricorn will send much needed help to re-boot and re-assess plans for the New Year. Libra: (born September 21 - October 21)
