HAPPY WESAK FULL MOON! - MERCURY RETROGRADE! |
|
| May arrives with a flamboyant Leo moon stoking the fires this month, with Mars in Aries adding the fuel, and Venus in Aries lighting the passion. I welcomed in the month from the vortices of Sedona where I was invited to participate in a sacred pipe ceremony at a off-the-beaten path sacred site called "Shaman's Cave." Quite an appropriate Earth honoring ceremony for the current Taurean equinox. Needless to say, spending time in the vortex, hiking, chanting sanskrit mantra, doing ashtanga yoga, raised my frequency a notch or so. During the time of Taurus (April 21-May 21) it is a good time to connect with the Earth, honor Mother Gaia, and reconnect to your own physical body. Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus, and Venus rules the kidneys and the throat. When the sun transits Taurus, our throat chakra may be vulnerable and need some healing attention. The more we can feel securely grounded or rooted to the Earth at this time, the easier it will be to weather the winds of change and chaos that are upon us. The current fear-mongering created by the Swine Flu outbreak is an example of the chaotic thought forms in the collective consciousness, and how they manifest. It is important to stay above the fray, know that you are the master of your own body and your own immune system. Listen to your body's wisdom. Get back to the Earth, and find remedies from her apothecary for healing, such as Essential oils, organic herbs, nutritional supplements, and super foods. Did you know there is an essential oil remedy that keeps away viruses, bacteria and the Bubonic plague? (and most likely the Swine Flu). My friend, medicine woman, Ishita White Crow, has made an updated version called "Sweet Nip" based on this remedy (www.themedicinebowl.com). The Wesak Festival is celebrated on the Scorpio Full Moon which falls during the sun's transit through Taurus. This year it occurs on Saturday, May 9th. The three days leading up to the full moon are the days of preparation, then the full moon, with the three days following it being the days of dispensation. The Wesak Moon is a festival celebrated by Buddhists and HIndus, and brought to the west by the Theosophists. The Wesak Festival is a time when the spiritual hierarchy, also know as the ascended masters of the planet, such as Buddha, Kuan Yin, the Christ, Mary, Krishna, Radha, , Lakshmi, and many others gather on the etheric planes and the physical planes of the Himalayan moutains on the border of India and Tibet. This is one of the many planetary portals being activated strongly during the current planetary shifts (others include Macchu Picchu in Peru, Mt. Shasta, Sedona, AZ, Glastonbury, England, Maui). The planetary masters assemble in the Himalayans to bless humanity and assist human consciousness in advancing forward to divinity. A special ceremony takes place, and the earth is infused with higher spiritual vibrations. In 1985, I had a dream about this ceremony where I was observing a gathering high in the mountains with Tibetan lamas and other holy people who were veiled. Shortly after the dream, synchronically a pamphlet on the Wesak Festival came into my hands via the Theosophical Society in Boston. For the past 24 years, I have celebrated this event either in my own meditations or in group activations to honor this special occasion. Since this is the most powerful full moon every year, I advise honoring it with your own form of sacred ceremony. During the Taurus equinox and the Scorpio full moon, Planet Earth receives a transmission from the galactic energies of the Great Bear, Pleiades, Sun, Vulcan, Venus, Planetary Logos, Sanat Kumara, Buddha and the Christ affecting all humanity. It is a very charged up time of the year, and on a personal level we can harness this energy and use it to set new and higher goals, make new plans to meet those goals, and strive to activate your soul's purpose in your day to day life. If you are unclear about your soul's purpose, called "dharma" in Sanskrit, it is a good time to consult an astrologer who can read your astrological chart, which is a cosmic blueprint of the soul for this current incarnation. The other big astrological news in May is, of course, Mercury Retrograde, which occurs from May 7 - May 31. Mercury retrograde can create obstacles and delays in travel, communication, and business. It is astrological rule of thumb not to sign any important documents or make big decisions while Mercury is retrograde because they may not stick. This Mercury retrograde in Gemini until May 13 is not a good time for purchasing cars or vehicles. There may be confusion with communications, lines getting crossed, technologies failing and missed messages. Mercury then slips retro into Taurus from May 14-31, which will make for plodding through tasks, and communications. You may have to tell people something several times before it sinks in. People may be more forgetful and dreamy during this mercury retro. Mercury retrograde is always a good time for doing spiritual practices and our inner self-discovery work. The Sun enters Gemini on May 20th and the New Moon in Gemini occurs on May 24th. Despite Mercury retro the end of May will be a good time for planning travel and fine-tuning all your communications. Be ready to take off and fly when Mercury goes direct on May 31st, ushering in an exciting and active month of June!
