CURRENT PLANETARY TRANSITS
This December will probably be quite unusual and we may find ourselves saying "once in a blue moon" while we experience curious conditions. We will be having a "blue moon" in December as it is a month of two full moons! The Full Moon falls on December 2nd and at the end of the month on December 31st with a Lunar Eclipse - Super Full Moon. A new moon in Sagittarius on December 16th rounds out this lunar love fest. Make sure you stay centered and get that holiday shopping done early (preferably from the internet so not to mingle with the masses), except in celebration mode).
Full Moon with the Sun in Sagittarius and Moon in Gemini occurs December 2nd. This holiday season consumerism and obligatory present buying should take a back seat to socialization and personal connection. Gifting can be simple yet thoughtful. Excitement is in the air, and people want to reach out and re-connect as Venus goes into Sagittarius on December 2nd, making for fun and festive contacts.
The Sun transits through Sagittarius from November 21 - December 21, which then marks the arrival of the Winter Solstice as the sun shifts into the sign Capricorn. The Winter Solstice was a time of celebration in pre-Christian and Earth-based societies as it marked the return of light in the Northern Hemisphere during this shortest day of the year. Re-connecting to the Earth through some sort of fire ritual is a wonderful way to ground the powerful energy available to us all at this time of year and bridge from the fiery Sagittarius equinox to the Capricorn Earth domain.
The New Moon in Sagittarius hits on December 16th with a powerful square from Uranus in Pisces making us question our fundamental assumptions about life. Uranus, the planet of change and awakening, is stirring up the pot, and our physical reality takes on a whole new aura. Uranus will awaken the consciousness, and bring in revelations both personally and collectively of what we didn't see prior to this time of great awakening, breakthroughs, or inevitable breakdowns, as we projectile into the future. Choose your path, and hang on to your hat.
Mercury goes retrograde on December 26 in Capricorn until January 15 and life becomes wierd as past experiences and past lives may come to the surface. Try to be practical with this Mercury retrograde and take care of unfinished business from 2009 to clean your slate for 2010. Much can be accomplished with this Mercury retro cycle and catching up with lost contacts and mis-communications will prove fruitful.
Cancer Full Moon - Capricorn Lunar Eclipse occurs on December 31st, the last Super Full Moon of 2009 - giving a farewell blast to the first decade of the new century. The tides will be higher, the lunar and solar electromagnetic flows will be stronger and the Moon passes through the shadow of the earth. The Universe is expanding faster than we can consciously recognize and time is speeding up according to the Mayan Calendar and other sources. How can our little ego/minds compete with these strong forces of nature? Do you want to spend this incarnation fighting change and resisting the universal karmic laws? Probably, not. Sip some champagne or sparkling cider and relax into the future. This New Year is a good time to chant the classic self-help affirmation, "I release and surrender to my highest good." Full Moon in Cancer illuminates where we need to nourish ourselves and take care of these human souls that exist in the body, mind, spirit.

Sagittarius: (born November 21-December 21)

Capricorn (born December 21 - January 21):
Capricorns have been hanging out in Pluto's dark realms, especially those born between December 21-26. Saturn in Libra has been squaring your sun, giving a double dose of serious karmic conditions. Ultimately, Saturn in Libra will help eliminate people and situations which no longer serve you. It will become more important that ever to bring your life into balance. Aquarius (born January 21-February 20)
2009 was a buzz drainer for Aquarius thanks to the Triple Conjunction in your sign with Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron, forcing issues to come to the surface. Planets in Sag during December help Aquarians re-boot and re-energize their para-shakti ( life force) for 2010. Jupiter is throwing one big bash as it leaves your sign from December 2009- Feb. 2010. Pisces (born February 20-March 21):
Uranus is now racing forward in Pisces, whipping up the winds of change in your life. You are making plans for the future, and look forward to confidently implementing them in 2010. Aries (born March 21-April 21)
Pluto is plodding through Capricorn, and throws a curve ball to those Arians born between March 21-29. Pluto square to your sun will force death and rebirth in certain areas of your life. Saturn in Libra is squaring Aries for the next few years. This is your initiation cycle so there may be challenges. Be humble, leave your ego at the door, and much will be revealed and healed. Taurus: (born April 21-May 21):
Taurus will feel a boost from the trine of Pluto in Capricorn to their sun in the coming years. This will bring in stability to the new foundations they have been building, and increased success. the influx of planets in Capricorn during December, including Mercury retro in Cap will be good for Taurus, and let you catch up on work and health issues. Gemini: (born May 21- June 21):
Sun in Sag. opposes your Gemini sun until December 21st but the Gemini full moon on December 2nd will give some nice uplift. Social activities during this full moon cycle should be revealing and rewarding. Jupiter in Aquarius gives you some respite for the next few months, so don't take life too seriously. Cancer: (born June 21 - July 21):
Those early Cancerians born between June 21-26 may feel the Plutonian initiations of release, death and rebirth now. So learn to release with grace and embrace the new cycles flowing into your life.

Leo: (born July 21-August 21)
